Art work showcase: The light is within your hands





Darkness prevails, but the light is within your hands. This artwork was inspired by the pandemic. I visualize the situation as suffocating, dark, and fearful. But without light, darkness has no meaning, and in times of despair, there is Hope. The light butterflies symbolize that meaning and that our hope should be the guiding light and hope for a better future.

In this artwork, you can see the details, colors, and values of light and shadow. How colors saturate and how each material differs from one another. This is one of my favourite art pieces I've done because I applied everything that I learned in studying color theories. I also love this, because of how crisp the colors are which makes JIbaro stand out.

Personal Essay: The Conflict Between Finding My Self and My Insecurities

I constantly pictured myself in the lives of others ; especially those who are better than me ; more skilled than me ; or attractive and well-liked by others. I was driven by a desire to be one of them. How I wish I had that kind of life; maybe I would live and be on a better path, or maybe I would enjoy my life if I lived just like one of those individuals. When I was engrossed in this thinking, I didn't recognize how I was gradually falling, sinking into deep insecurities, and losing my confidence. I was imprisoned, and I didn't even realize the need to search for myself. Art: The Color to My Life’s Canvas (A Memoir)

Throughout my life, I stayed in my home, but it is not the houses we have instead it is the houses in our minds. For me, I call it home, but others might call it a “comfort zone” or a “safe space.” I stayed in my humble abode for far too long, as I grew, I discovered new things, I’m myself when I’m home, which gave me the freedom to explore and wonder what intrigues me. Then I discovered art, it was love at first sight, a breathtaking moment. Disney movies, cartoons, and comics; I’m not just watching or reading them, but I have used them to gather inspiration.
